What is the SEER Rating?
SEER stands for “Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio”. A SEER rating is the ratio of the cooling output of an air conditioner over a typical cooling season, divided by the energy it consumed in Watt-Hours. The higher the SEER the more efficient the system will be. The SEER rating of any given unit can range anywhere from 14 to 21. Learn more…
Why should I have a Preventative Maintenance Plan?
It’s in the name – to prevent breakdowns. Your heat and ac system works incredibly hard to keep your home comfortable every day. Although the maintenance plan does not prevent parts from needing to be replaced, it does help prevent sudden breakdowns which seems to occur at the worst times – middle of the night, holidays and weekends. Service calls during those time cost more. While we are servicing your system, we are checking for these weak or worn out parts to replace them then instead of afterhours which saves you time and money not to mention extending the life of your heating and cooling system. How often should I have maintenance performed on my system?
We recommend twice a year especially for full time residents and vacation rental properties. This will ensure maximum efficiency and prevent possible problems that may occur.
But in our area, we have many owners that this is their second home and they do not rent it other times therefore the system is minimally used. We have a plan available for just once a year if that fits your needs better.
I have a Florida Heat Pump water source heating and ac system. Do you service those, too?

Why should I have a programmable thermostat?
Programmable thermostats can control the temperature in your home at different times of day without ever touching the thermostat. Many new thermostats are WIFI enabled for convenient control through an app on your phone or tablet. This is ideal for 2nd home-owners who are not here frequently or rent their property to vacationers. It’s amazing what you can control with smart thermostats. Check them out here…
What type of filter should I use? And how often should I replace it?
All systems require a standard filter to keep your system and its ductwork clean, but they don’t really improve indoor air quality. If you’re concerned about your home’s air, we recommend a media filter kit. The media filter will improve dust and particle removal up to seven times that of a standard filter. Standard disposable filters should be replaced every month. If you have washable filters, they should be cleaned once a month.
What system should I choose for my home?
There are many factors that affect the sizing and specifications of the system needed for your home. These factors include square footage, insulation, windows, physical location of your home, duct system, and many others. Ductworks Heating and Cooling will perform a load calculation to determine which equipment will perfectly suit your home and your family’s needs. Check out our Systems…
What does my warranty cover?
Under the standard factory warranty, the manufacturer covers parts that fail during the warranty period due to defect in the part. The warranty does not cover labor. Ductworks Heating and Cooling registers your equipment for you to extend the standard 5-year warranty to 10 years. If you cannot find your warranty certificate, Ductworks Heating and Cooling will also be able to look it up for you with your model and serial numbers. We always check to see if a system is under warranty before any repair.
