Socastee, SC is a small coastal town with a lot to offer in the way of history and beauty. The seasonal weather is ideal for those who like warm summers and cold winters.  This town is beautiful and a nice escape from the hustle and bustle of the neighboring tourist towns. However, it is still near enough to the action to keep you busy and “in the mix.” 

Socastee has a beautiful coastal area and you can also visit any number of nearby coastal towns from Murrells Inlet to Surfside Beach and, of course Myrtle and North Myrtle Beaches. If you visit during the winter then put on a coat and take a walk to enjoy the gorgeous scenery and quiet beauty of this quaint town. The warmer months allow for lazy days enjoying the sun, sea and salt air with family and friends.  Either way, this coastal town will provide hours of fun for everyone.  In Socastee, there is also an historic district along the coast.  There, you will find a historic cemetery and many stunning and fascinating historical homes.  There is also the Socastee Swing Bridge which was built in 1936.

There are a wide array of amazing attractions to visit in the area.  In Murrells Inlet, you will find Brookgreen Gardens, which is a beautiful and expansive green space filled with lush vegetation and more.  You will be amazed and enthralled by their outdoor sculpture collection as well as their stunning flowers, water and beautifully maintained landscape.  There is even a zoo on the grounds with horses, birds, native animals and other domestic animals.  It is a must-see for a sunny summer day with the family.

If you are visiting in the winter and looking for indoor activities then check out the aquarium, restaurants, shopping or other attractions in Myrtle Beach.  For example, the Wheels of Yesteryear Museum which is chock full of classic cars. There are also a great many shows, theatres and other indoor activities that will keep you warm while having fun.  Check out the Palace Theatre for a wide array of shows. You can also visit North Myrtle Beach and check out Barefoot Landing, which is home to many landmark theatres and restaurants as well as shopping and other attractions.
